Who knew how much a horse could teach a person? As a long-time dog owner and animal lover, I was always aware of the powerful healing potential animals can have. I always knew instinctively - and now I know it to be true based on my knowledge of the brain - that mammals have an ability to feel, connect with and care for others.
What I didn't realize was how much a horse could teach me about myself - and in such a short time!

There are many exercise and diet gurus out there telling you what to be. I applaud their dedication. I was not a superhuman who was ever able to achieve their standards and I wonder if you have been that accomplished? I suspect not. For me, spiritual healing of my sense of self (the within me) is much more achievable.
The diet and exercise approach appears to have a piece lodged within it that says “Unless you do this and look like this, you are not successful or acceptable.” I was never able to accomplish one of those acceptable bodies although I did try many, many times. God knows I tried.

Nothing can change the look of your legs like the squat. Before we get into a routine that will change your lower body in no time flat, lets talk about proper squat form.
The first thing to remember about the squat is that the power starts on the heels. Stay on your heels at all times while squatting. A lot of the concern of squats being bad on the knees comes from people who can’t squat properly bouncing up and down on their toes.
Keep your knees tracking over your toes, a common thing to see is the knee wobble. One or both knees with buckle in, usually on the ascent of the squat. Make sure your knees stay out and track over the feet. This applies to the leg press as well, but we all know that you would never miss out on all the benefits of squats by opting for the leg press!
