1. Always have your end objective in mind. Don't just randomly put up a site and hope that in some way, it will start making money. You have to know what you are going to do in order to make it profitable. Are you going to sell products? Are you going to promote other people's products?
2. Focus your attention and energy all on one aspect at a time. It's better to be great at one method than it is to be mediocre at a whole bunch of methods. Over time, you can develop new ways of making money on-line, but once you decide what you are going to “master,” stick with it.
3. Always remember that having a website with the hopes of making a profit means you are in business. Keep that state of mind with you at all times. You want to make sure that you have the commitment and the focus to really build up your website or blog so that it becomes a viable income source for you.
Having a website and trying to make money on-line can be rewarding and fun. However, it can also be frustrating and disappointing at times. Just remember that you are in business and that you should approach it as such.
