In this theory man-woman relationships are more about spiritual aspects than physical satisfaction. Members of a family, things we get used to can be objects which are used in this theory. Creation of an individual consists of reduction of outward kind of relationships into an inside world. Internalization of the outward relationships usually causes inner transplantation of the outward object. After these changes the object is transferred into intra psychic formations.
Such kind of relationships between parents(usually mother) and a child ascertains future independent behavior of a child. Role of mother in such relationships is not only to help infant to form relationship perception using external scheme but also she helps to develop correct personality and to form social behavior of a child in future. Normally conduct of a mature person in society is formed in early childhood by mother. A theory of internalized relationships was tested many times with life and it was proved that these relationships develop ability to see diversities in identities and ability to build binding self.
Psychological disturbance also can be explained as lack of ability to understand people relationships what leads to future immaturity of individual. The reason of dysfunctions in mind should be searched in first relationships of a person in childhood . But usually a person can move on to progress of binding self only if this problem is resolved.
