Whenever you are taking photos at an important event, you need to be sure that you plan ahead so you do not run the risk of losing your pictures. In this article, I cover some of the ways that photographers do lose photos due mainly to a lack of planning ahead.

Take time to prepare your camera for an important event, such as a wedding, or you may end up without any photos of the occasion. I have seen it happen all too often, even with professional photographers, who fail to take some important basic precautions to ensure a successful shoot. I know many professional photographers who began their careers photographing weddings. It is probably the easiest of all photography areas to get into.

In the last decade or so, scrapbooking has become a huge fad. Entire stores are dedicated to the craft, as well as home party businesses and hundreds of scrapbooking groups and clubs. Where once a person was doing well just to get photographs put in an album, now you are shamed if they are not pasted in gorgeous albums decorated with little charms, clever pockets, and thousands of cute, expensive stickers. Often the books are way more attractive than the photographs in them!

The album-challenged already had problems, and then digital photography came along and invented an entirely new difficulty to rival the exhausting scrapbooking process-pictures that, for whatever reason, never get printed! They just get relegated to a computer file and left to float in cyber space. Like pictures in a draw, they are always there, nagging at the back of your mind. The larger their number, the less you want to tackle them. It is a troubling downward spiral, really.

Some people, when they decide on a design for a tattoo may choose to have a picture of skull tattoo applied to their body. Skulls, crossed bones and other scary tattoos have been popular with tattoo shop customers for as long as tattoos have been around. Full stop

The punctuation mark full stop (.) is used to close sentences. A new sentence that follows a full stop has a capital letter.

Honesty is the best policy.

A friend in need is a friend indeed.

Full stops are also used in writing abbreviations. This is becoming less common in British English.

Examples are: oz. for ounce (s), Prof. for professor, i.e. for in other words and e.g. for for example.

Question marks

Question marks (?) are used to close direct questions. A new sentence that follows a question mark has a capital letter.

What are you doing?

Did you get my letter?

Why do we try to reach the stars?

Note that we do not use question marks after indirect questions.
